Adjo is a Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Global Health Security Agenda (GHSA) expert, with over 15 years of experience supporting the US Government, International Organizations and the private sector as a Consultant and Change Agent. 

Career Working Experience

Her professional career includes working on programs for U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), U.S. Department of State (DoS), U.S. Veterans Affairs, while strengthening civil society, education, health, democratic practices in transitional and post-conflict societies in sub-Saharan Africa. Mrs. Amouzou has supported organizations working on African, African American, and minorities issues such as social justice, human rights, sustainable economic development, democracy, education, health systems strengthening, IPCR, and women’s/gender rights. Some of those organizations are The African Institute, Charles Schwab Washington Research Group (WRG), IIMCR, IIE, Laureate, AfroBarometer, CFA, CDCF, Abt Associates, Louis Berger, GDIT and many others. Additionally, she has helped developed companies such as the American Development Corporation and Atlantic Supply company which was led by Mr. Marion Duke Greene. Mr. Greene was the founder of International Business Services Inc., the multimillion-dollar computer-services business he founded in the basement of his Washington home with only $500. He nurtured the fledgling management- and technical-consulting company to an enterprise with estimated annual sales of $28 million, making it one of the largest minority-owned businesses in the country and was one of the first African-American millionaires with a background in civil engineering to receive a contract with IBM (reference from Washington Post). Also, she is truly humbled serving as a NAARC Commissioner alongside revered professionals from various backgrounds working daily to bring justice to African-Americans in the US. Her work has led her to directly work alongside former Prime Minister Gilbert Houngbo of Togo now the Director General for ILO. During the Ebola crisis, she managed logistics for former President Alpha Conde’s delegation to the World Bank while supporting her client’s Gruppo Piccini. Furthermore, she has extensive experience in managing small, medium-sized, and large grants across multiple countries and programs. Track record in building relationships with local leaders in business, government, and civil society.

Education

Currently, pursuing a PhD in Criminal Justice with a focus on Global Leadership. She received her MA from the American University, School of International Service, with a concentration on International Peace and Conflict Resolution and focus on International Development and a Bachelor’s degree (Phi Sigma Theta) in Government and Politics from the University of Maryland. She is fluent in French and Ewe. Certified Conflict Prevention and Peace-Building Coach and SAFe 5 Agile Practitioner.
